Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.
Best-selling children's author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the publisher stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour towards female individuals.
The firm declined to specify the reasons for its decision, adding: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
To date, he has released in excess of 40 works combined, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
