British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday evening. The fighter was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the sports world offered its support for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
